Consular Processes

Comprehensive steps, and requirements to help you navigate your application smoothly. From detailed steps to expert support, we guide you through every stage of the application process

Determine Eligibility

The applicant must confirm their eligibility for an immigrant visa through a family-based, employment-based, or other qualifying category. This involves having an approved petition, such as a family or employment petition, filed on their behalf.

Petition Approval and Case Transfer

Once the petition is approved by the relevant immigration authority, it is transferred to the consular processing center. The applicant receives a case number and instructions on how to proceed with the next steps.

Pay Fees and Submit Documents Appointment

The applicant pays the required visa processing fees and submits all necessary forms and supporting documents to the consular processing center. This typically includes completing an online visa application form, providing civil documents (e.g., birth certificates, police clearances), and financial sponsorship forms to demonstrate the applicant will not become a public charge.

Medical Examination

The applicant undergoes a medical examination conducted by an approved panel physician. The examination ensures the applicant meets the health requirements and does not have conditions that would bar entry. The results are sent directly to the consular office or provided to the applicant in a sealed envelope.

Visa Interview

The applicant attends an interview at the consulate or embassy, where a consular officer reviews their application, verifies documents, and asks questions to assess eligibility for the visa. If everything is in order, the officer may approve the visa, pending additional security checks or administrative processing.

Visa Issuance and Entry

If the visa is approved, the applicant receives their passport with the visa stamp and additional instructions. Upon arrival at the destination, the applicant presents the visa and any accompanying documents at the port of entry to complete the immigration process. After clearance, the applicant is authorized to enter and can proceed with obtaining permanent residency, if applicable.
